We have updated the results tracker with the prizes awarded in each category. Apart from the wood rounds and maple syrup, all other awards were generously donated by our partners. These include gift certificates from TC Running Company (run), 9:ZERO:7 (bike) and Out There (ski). As well as a few ‘extras’ for the runners… Chicked down skirts for the winning ladies, copies of the Triple Crown Edition of the 300-Mile Man book by local writer and editor Philip Gary Smith for the 2 longer distance winners, and for all male and female run winners: gaiters handmade by new business owner and 150-mile racer Roberto Marron. Many of you will know that Roberto is the main subject of the 300 Mile Man with a ton of winter endurance experience. The website for his new business will be up and running soon. That’s a lot of prizes for the runners… clearly we need to make a few more bike and ski friends!
The results tracker is more or less final at this point unless we hear of any further edits. In the coming weeks, we will update the Results page of our website to add a section for course records – several of which were set this year!
The winner of this year’s Iditarod Trail Invitational entry was Sue Lucas of Dauphin, Manitoba. Sue won the 150-mile on foot. Congratulations Sue! Entry into ITI costs $1200 and is paid for by the Tuscobia Winter Ultra.
The winner of the 9:ZERO:7 frameset (fork & frame) was Chris Finch of Duluth, MN. Chris completed the 75-mile on bike and in his own words, is “due a new rig”! Congratulations Chris and Thank You again to our bike sponsor 9:ZERO:7 for the generous donation.
Door Prizes were donated by several of our partners and friends of the race. This year’s collection included bike & ski pogies from Bar Mitts, t-shirts and hoodie from 9:ZERO:7, 2 entries into Actif Epica, Chicked gear, a headlamp from Gemini Lights, a free night’s stay at the Munro Manor B&B in Park Falls, and a pair of of Roberto Marron’s gaiters. There were several winners that were not present at the drawings and haven’t yet received their prizes. They will all be in the mail to you on Monday! Central Waters Brewing Company of Amherst, WI also gave us several t-shirts, hoodies and hats that were distributed among the volunteers.
